SUWANEE, Ga. - Monday afternoon the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference announced their 2012 Women's All-SCAC Tennis Team and Southwestern University's Jessica Gaines (pictured) and Virginia Stofer were named as honorable mention selections. 

This is Gaines' first selection to the post-season awards. In individual matches this year she went 9-7 overall, 4-3 against conference opponents, playing the majority of the time in the #3 slot. In doubles action, Gaines and her partner Elyse Bigler, went 5-11 on the season and 3-4 against SCAC opponents.

Stofer has made a splash in her first season with the Pirates. The first-year from Albuquerque, N.M. went 10-7 on the season and a staggering 8-1 against conference opponents, playing the majority of the season in #6 singles. In limited doubles play, Stofer and Abigail Sedory went 2-5 as the #3 doubles for the Pirates.

The duo of Gaines and Stofer helped the SU women's tennis team reach their highest conference finish in years, bringing home fourth place overall at the SCAC Conference Championships.
