WOMEN'S TENNIS SPLITS WEEKEND SCAC MATCHES IN BIRMINGHAM

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - As conference action continues for Southwestern, the Pirates continue to define themselves as a program, winning two of the four matches this weekend. SU now sits at 10-6 on the season and 3-3 in the SCAC.

Southwestern had a tough first day of action, dropping both of their head-to-head matches. They opened up with Birmingham-Southern and fell 7-2 in the contest. The Pirates were unable to rebound in their second match as they were narrowly bested by Millsaps 5-4.

SU regrouped and overcame a sluggish start on day two, rallying in singles action to defeat Centre College 5-4. The momentum carried over into their final match as they easily handled Oglethorpe 8-1.

The Pirates have one more regular season contest, against the University of Texas at Dallas, this week  before heading out to the SCAC Championships the last weekend in April.
