Women's Swimming Takes Gold in First Event of SCAC Championship Meet

SAN ANTONIO – The Southwestern University Pirates women's swimming and diving team won the 200 medley relay for the second consecutive year in Day One of the SCAC championship meet.

Ashley Harmon, Rehgan Hartsell, Jesse Stovall and Cara Chin clocked in at 1:46.02, which was the second fastest time in SCAC championship meet history.

An early take-off disqualified the team in the day's second event, the 800 freestyle relay, dropping the Pirates to fourth in the standings after the first of three days of competition with a total score of 68. Colorado College currently leads the field with a score of 96.

Day two continues today with preliminaries for the 200 freestyle relay, 500 freestyle, 200 individual medley, and 50 freestyle preliminaries at 10:30 a.m. and the finals for each event beginning at 6 p.m.
