Women's Swimming Splits Meet With OBU and Rhodes

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Southwestern University Pirates women's swimming and diving team split its meet against Rhodes College and Ouachita Baptist University (OBU) on Friday night, defeating OBU 145-103 but falling to Rhodes 138-118.

The Pirates got their first first-place finish in the ninth event, with Rehgan Hartsell finishing the 100 Yard Breastsroke with a time of 1:09.47. 

Southwestern then swept the next three events. Ashley Harmon won the 200 Yard Butterfly with a time of 2:14.31. Jesse Stovall then took the 50 Yard Freestyle (24.97) and 100 Yard Freestyle (53.63). Catherine Hiebel finished second in the event with a time of 57.64.

Harmon started and finished the 500 Yard Freestyle strong, with a 30.21 time on her first leg and 31.14 on the last for a time of 5:26.62 to win the event. The Pirates closed the event with a victory in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay, finishing with a time of 3:45.14.
