Southwestern splits pair of competitions on Friday

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Southwestern women's swimming team split a pair of competitions Friday. The Pirates handled Ouachita Baptist, 179-69, but dropped a 137-118 decision to Rhodes.

Southwestern picked up three individual wins and a relay victory on the day.

Megan Mick won the 100-yard backstroke with a mark of 1:04.48. Kenly Gaynor was first to the wall in the 100-yard butterly with a time of 1:02.71.

Erika Dubros won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:11.95). She also helped the 400-yard freestyle relay team to a first-place finish. Dubros was joined by Cara Chin, Olivia Stankus and Taylor Adams, as the relay squad posted a time of 3:57.22.

The Pirates will return to action Saturday at Centenary. The competition is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. in Shreveport, La.
