Southwestern University Pirates softball outfield Tori Montemayor was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Player of the Week for games played from Monday. Feb. 17 through Sunday, Feb. 23.
Montemayor helped lead the Pirates to a 3-1 record over the week, sweeping Our Lady of the Lake University during Friday's home doubleheader and earning a split of a road doubleheader against NCAA Division II St. Edward's University on Sunday.
In four games, Montemayor hit 5-for-11 (.455) with a home run and double, finishing the week with three RBIs and four runs scored. Through eight games this season, Montemayor is hitting .435 in 23 at bats with a .609 slugging percentage.
