Lindsey Longuet Earns SCAC Player of the Week Award for Victory Over OLLU

The Southwestern University softball team is off to its best start in school history with a 6-0 start and pitcher Lindsey Longuet is the latest Pirate to receive individual recognition, winning the latest Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Pitcher of the Week award. 

Longuet was stellar in her lone appearance over the weekend, pitching a complete-game shutout win over Our Lady of the Lake University. 

The pitcher from Missouri City, Texas went all seven innings, striking out five and making quick work of the Saints in the Pirates' 2-0 victory, facing only 24 hitters to pick up her first win of the season. In 14.2 innings pitched this season, Longest has given up only 13 hits and has eight strikeouts with a 1.91 ERA.

Pitcher Nadia Netek and Sydney Scott are the previous Player of the Week winners from this season, earning the honor in Week 1. Southwestern University will host Mary Hardin-Baylor on Tuesday, Feb. 26 in a doubleheader that begins at 4:00 p.m.
