Tennis joins Southwestern Softball staff

GEORGETOWN, Texas - Head Softball Coach Angela Froboese announced the addition of Karen Tennis as Assistant Coach Tuesday.

Tennis is a 2018 graduate of Mary Hardin-Baylor where she earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Physical Education. A three-time All-ASC selection in the circle, Tennis had the lowest ERA of any pitcher on UMHB's staff the last three seasons. Tennis was instrumental in helping the Crusaders to a fourth place finish in the American Southwest Conference (ASC), arguably one of the toughest conferences in the nation.

Tennis has been conducting private pitching lessons for the past two years and has had one student thus far commit to playing in college.

A standout in high school, Tennis was named the State Player of the Year in 2013 and 2014 and guided Bay Area Christian High School to a State Championship in 2013.

Southwestern went 23-17 last year, advancing to the SCAC Championship game before falling to nationally-ranked Texas Lutheran University.
