SEGUIN, Texas - Southwestern's early runs gave the Pirates a lead they would not lose as they defeated Trinity 4-2 Saturday evening.
SU scored three runs in the first inning and added another in the second before letting their defense take over to close the game.
Celeste Silvas was 2-2 at the plate while Kaitlynn Copher drove home two RBIs. Lindsey Longuet earned the win on the mound, allowing two runs on four hits with two walks and eight strikeouts.
Southwestern advances to the SCAC Championship game and will face Texas Lutheran at 1 pm Sunday.
