Softball completes sweep of Austin College Saturday

SHERMAN, Texas - Southwestern's bats unloaded to defeat Austin College 13-1 and 4-2 Saturday to complete the series sweep.

The Pirates were up 9-0 through two innings and finished with four in the fourth for the run rule win in game one. Nadia Netek gave up just one hit to earn the win on the mound. Taylor Curtis was a perfect 3-3 with three RBIs while Kaitlynn Copher continued her dominating weekend with a 3-4 outing and four RBIs. 

SU had a 1-0 lead through four innings in game two before posting three runs in the fifth. Sydney Scott was the only Pirate with a multi-hit game, going 2-4. Lindsey Longuet earned the win on the mound, allowing two runs on five hits with four strikeouts. 

Southwestern improves to 7-9 on the year and, more importantly, goes to 4-2 in the SCAC. SU next heads to Florida for four games, first facing Oswego State on Wednesday at 7 a.m.
