CLERMONT, Fla. – Southwestern blasted out 28 runs on 31 hits through two games to open their four-game stretch at the Florida Games.

GAME 1: Southwestern 19, Lyndon State 3

A steady stream of runs including a massive 10 run second gave Southwestern a huge lead that would never be threatened as starting pitcher Isabella Robb cruised to the complete game win.

The 19 runs and 18 RBIs are the most since the Pirates blasted Centenary 25-1 on March 23, 2013.

Berkeley Bacon led the charge at the plate, going 3-3 with five RBIs and three runs scored. Marissa Irvin added a 3-4 outing with two RBIs and 2 runs scored while Karly Pustka was 2-3 with three RBIs and three runs.

In five innings of work Robb allowed three runs, two earned on six hits while walking three and striking out three.

GAME 2: Southwestern 9, Concordia-Moorhead 0

The Pirates scored one run in the second inning after a scoreless first and held onto that lead with great pitching and defensive plays through the sixth inning, giving their bats time to finish the game.

SU did just that with eight runs in the seventh to post the lopsided win.

Chandler Smith was outstanding on the mound to earn the shutout. In seven innings she scattered four hits while walking three and striking out four.

Irvin and Paige McShan led the way at the plate, both going 3-5 with one RBI and one run while Bacon and Katie Bricarell each had two RBIs.

Southwestern (6-4) closes their stint in Florida with games against St. Mary's (MN) at 9 am EST and Franklin at 1 pm EST.
