Pirates fall in shortened, rain soaked game

In a game cut short by rain in Seguin, Southwestern softball was held scoreless as they fell 5-0 to Texas Lutheran Saturday.

The Pirates recorded just two hits in the loss, one each by Michele Ramos and Stacy Rosengren.

TLU's bats were held quiet through the first three innings, but the Bulldogs plated three in the fourth and two in the fifth before the rains moved in and stopped the game.

Cozette Palmer suffered the loss, allowing three runs on three hits while walking two and striking out two.

The loss drops Southwestern to 16-17 on the year and 12-7 in the SCAC while TLU improves to 29-4 overall and 19-0 in conference play. The Pirates remain in second place after the weekend with four games to play. They host Trinity University for a four game series beginning on Saturday at 1 p.m.
