Pirates sweep SCAC Week 4 honors

STACY ROSENGREN OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a senior utility player from Round Rock, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Softball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played through Sunday, March 1st.

Rosengren was key at the plate despite the Pirates dropping a pair of road games to NAIA foe Houston-Victoria.

Rosengren went 3-for-6 (.500) from the plate with a double, three RBIs, and two runs scored. In the first game, she went 1-for-3 with a double in a 7-3 loss. She followed that up by going 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a run scored in a 9-8 loss.

For the season, Rosengren is hitting .263 from the plate with one double, a homerun, and seven RBIs. 

COZETTE PALMER OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a sophomore right handed pitcher West Linn, Ore., has been selected the SCAC Softball Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played through Sunday, March 1st.


Palmer was great in the circle despite the Pirates dropping a pair of games to the 18th-ranked team in NAIA, Houston-Victoria.

Palmer went 0-1 in 11.1 innings of work, posting a 2.47 ERA. She allowed nine runs (four earned) on 16 total hits while striking out three batters. She would take the loss in a very close second game.

For the season, Palmer is 1-4 with an ERA of 7.29. She has a team-leading nine strikeout on the season and is second in the conference in innings pitched at 32.2.
