Led by Karen Ramirez's Second Team selection, three Southwestern Pirates were named in the 2013 National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division III All-Region Team. Tessa Galloway and Abigail O'Connor were Third Team West All-Region selections.
Ramirez was third on the team in batting average (.396) with a team high 63 hits, 24 doubles and 58 runs. She was second on the team with a .635 slugging percentage and posted a team high 13 stolen bases.
Galloway was second on the team with 61 hits this season and a .399 batting average. With 16 doubles, two triples and three homeruns Galloway posted a .588 slugging percentage and .474 on base percentage.
O'Connor led the Pirates with a .421 batting average with 51 hits in 121 plate appearances. She drove in 23 runs and scored 36 times while hitting seven doubles and one triple on the season.
The Pirates ended the year with a 34-13 overall record after winning the SCAC Conference Championship and advancing to the NCAA Regional for the second time.
