Galloway, Kingston Repeat as SCAC Players-of-the-Week

Tessa Galloway was selected as the SCAC Offensive Player-of-the-Week and Kelsey Kingston the SCAC Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played April 1 - April 7. This is Galloway's second Player-of-the-Week honor and Kingston's fourth.

TESSA GALLOWAY OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a junior outfielder from Spring, Texas has been selected the SCAC Softball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, April 1 through Sunday, April 7.

Galloway led Southwestern to a 4-0 record in SCAC play during the week. Galloway hit .769 (10-13) with a double, seven RBI, five runs scored and a walk in four games against Dallas. She tallied an incredible .800 on-base percentage while slugging at an .846 clip to post a 1.646 OPS (On-base + Slugging) for the week.

KELSEY KINGSTON OF SOUTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, a first-year righthander from Kingwood, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Softball Pitcher-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, April 1 through Sunday, April 7.

Kingston started and earned the win in all four of Southwestern's wins during the week. Kingston went 4-0 and allowed just one earned run in 14 innings pitched (0.50 ERA). She scattered 11 hits, one walk (0.86 WHIP) and struck out 23 batters to average 11.5 strikeouts per seven innings pitched. Kingston struck out at least four batters in each game with a high of eight in Saturday's first game against Dallas.

The Pirates are currently 24-8 on the year and 7-1 in the SCAC. They return to action on April 13th as they kick off a four game series with Austin College in Sherman, Texas.
