Women's Soccer Shutout in Loss to Dalllas

GEORGETOWN, Texas — The Southwestern University Pirates women's soccer team suffered its second consecutive loss and third of the season, losing 1-0 to the University of Dallas Crusaders. 

Dallas put together a strong first half, getting six shots off to Southwestern's four, connecting on Alyssa Mencacci's unassisted goal at the 18:42 mark for the game-winner. 

Southwestern upped its intensity in the second half where they fired off 15 of their 19 shots for the match. Dallas got an exemplary effort from goalkeeper Olivia Severson, who had seven saves in the second half. Her teammates stepped up as well with four defensive saves in the half for 11 total after the break. 

With the loss, the Pirates drop to 8-4 on the season and 0-2 in conference play. They will return to action on Sunday with a match against Austin College at 12:00 p.m.
