Cardone Named SCAC Player of the Week

Lawrenceville, Ga.  – Mary Cardone is the first Southwestern women's soccer player to be named the 2018 SCAC defensive player of the week.  

Cardone, a junior goalkeeper from San Antonio, Texas, was selected as defensive player of the week in week two of the SCAC women's soccer. She was picked for matches played on Tuesday, September 4th to Sunday, September 9th. Cardone collected three saves in net for Southwestern against UT-Tyler last Friday night. Cardone has made all three starts in goal this season for Southwestern corralling 23 saves in just over 280 minutes of action.

Cardone and Pirates hit the road in the upcoming games on Friday, Sept. 14 against Johnson & Wales. On the following Sunday, the Pirates will be back for a home game against Huston-Tillotson.
