Pirates Outmatched in Loss at Texas-Dallas

RICHARDSON, Texas - The Southwestern University women's soccer team did not have any answers on Thursday evening as they fell on the road to the Texas-Dallas Comets by the score of 5-0.

The Comets out shot the Pirates 48-0 on the day as Southwestern could not get anything going in their attack. The Comets also held a 12-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Texas-Dallas only held a 1-0 lead in the first half as the Pirates defense did a great job holding the Comets attack in check. Sophomore Mary Cardone had five saves in the first half. However, the Comets scored four goals in the second half to pull away for the five goal victory.

Senior Kylie Hunt had nine saves in the second half despite Texas-Dallas getting 30 shots off.

The Pirates fall to 2-12 overall. They will move back into SCAC play on Sunday as they travel to Irving to take on the University of Dallas at 12 PM.
