Prates Fall to No. 12 Trinity on the Road

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Southwestern University women's soccer team struggled against No. 12 Trinity on Sunday afternoon as the nationally-ranked Tigers used a four goal first half en route to a 7-0 win over the Pirates at Paul McGinlay Field.

Trinity out shot Southwestern 39-2 and held a 6-0 advntage in corner kicks.

The Tigers jumped ou tto a 2-0 lead in the first 12 minutes then pushed the lead to 4-0 with back-to-back goals in the 31st minute. Trinity tacked on three more goals in the second half to pull away and win.

Senior Kylie Hunt had eight saves in the first half while sophomore Mary Cardone added four saves. Freshman Shay Kana got some work late in the game, picking up three saves in 20 minutes. The SU attack was led by senior Angelica Grayson with a pair of shots.

The Pirates move to 2-11 overall and 2-8 in SCAC play. Southwestern will take a little break from conference play for a non-conference contest on the road against Texas-Dallas on Thursday at 5:00 PM
