McGrath, Cardone named SCAC Players of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – After a weekend sweep the Southwestern women's soccer team earned two conference player of the week nods. 

Megan McGrath scored three goals in two games with two being game winners to earn her SCAC Offensive Player of the Week selection.

First-year goalkeeper Mary Cardone earned her second SCAC Defensive Player of the Week pick, this time sharing the honor with Tara Armstrong of Texas Lutheran. She recorded 12 saves with two shutouts in 168 minutes of play. Additionally, Cardone aided offensively, recording an assist against Centenary Sunday. 

Currently at the top of the standings in the SCAC, the Pirates return home to face Dallas on Friday at 7 p.m.
