Women's Soccer earn NSCAA Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Four SCAC women's soccer programs were recognized with the National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for the 2013-14 academic year, the organization announced on Monday. Complete NSCAA Release

Texas Lutheran University led the way among the group of SCAC women's teams with a team GPA of 3.47, followed closely by Trinity University with a team GPA of 3.43. Southwestern University had a team GPA of 3.29 and the University of Dallas posted a cumulative 3.25 grade point average. 

The NSCAA annually recognizes college and high school soccer programs that have excelled in the classroom, in addition to their work on the pitch.

A total of 864 college soccer teams (281 men, 583 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2013-14 academic year.
