Bevins selected as SCAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Southwestern first-year Sarah Bevins has earned SCAC Player of the Week honors after an outstanding performance, leading to her team's success. 

Bevins, a freshman forward/midfielder from Austin, Texas and TLU's Sioned Kirkpatrick, a sophomore forward from San Antonio, Texas, has been selected the SCAC Women's Soccer Co-Offensive Players-of-the-Week for matches played from Monday, October 14th through Sunday, October 20th. 

Bevins scored four goals in two games, including three against Centenary in the second half, as Southwestern went 2-0 this weekend to move to 7-2 in the conference, second only behind Trinity. 

Bevins took ten shots, seven on goal, for a .700 shots on goal percentage and had a .400 shot percentage. 

Kirkpatrick also scored four goals on the weekend, bringing her SCAC-leading goal total to 17. She scored twice in both games, recording eight shots and four shots on goal. Kirkpatrick has now scored at least two goals six times this season. 

Southwestern remains in second place in the SCAC after the pair of wins this weekend and have secured a spot in the SCAC Conference Championship for the second consecutive year. SU heads out on their final regular season road trip this weekend, facing off with Schreiner on Friday and Texas Lutheran on Sunday.
