Deanna Hames Named SCAC Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week

Southwestern University Pirates first year midfielder Deanna Hames was named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Women's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week for games played from Monday, Feb. 24 through Sunday, March 1.

Hames was electric in the Pirates' 25-5 victory over the University of Dallas Crusaders, leading Southwestern with a game-high six goals and an assist for seven points.

For the season, Hames has 15 points, scoring 10 goals and five assists. She is second in the conference in points and goals, trailing teammate Johnee Wolter by one in each category. This is the Pirates' second Offensive Player of the Week award in three weeks.

Southwestern is 3-1 on the season, including 2-1 on the road. They've scored 61 goals with 24 assists, averaging 15.25 goals per game. The Pirates will host St. Mary's (Indiana) on Sunday, March 8 at noon in the first of three games of the Southwestern Women's Lacrosse Classic, taking place all next week.
