Pirates dominate Northwestern-St. Paul on the road

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Southwestern's offense was firing on all cylinders Saturday afternoon as the Pirates easily handled Northwestern-St. Paul 18-7. 

Northwestern-St. Paul scored the first goal of the game, but Southwestern answered with an 8-0 run that lasted into the second half. 

The Eagles attempted a comeback and pulled within four, 9-5, with just over 25 minutes to play in the game, but Grace Maynard had the quick answer with back to back goals, including a man-down goal, to put the Pirates back up by six. 

Southwestern refused to take their foot off the gas as they exploded for seven goals in the final 11 minutes to secure the 18-7 win. 

Hayley Donnelly was unstoppable as she led with seven goals and three assists on the afternoon. Ronni Winter added three goals and three assists and Maynard ended the day with three goals and one assist. 

The win improves Southwestern to 4-8 on the year. They return home to face Johnson & Wales on Saturday, April 21st at 5 pm.
