Hamline tops Southwestern in frozen north

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Near freezing conditions kept the Pirate's offense cooled as Southwestern fell 16-5 to Hamline Thursday afternoon.

Hamline outscored the Pirates 7-2 in the first half, putting the Pirates at a deficit early on.

Southwestern traded goals in the opening five minutes of the second half but were unable to get on roll as Hamline remained at an arm's length the rest of the way.

Allison Cook was outstanding as she posted six caused turnovers and three draw controls. Hayley Donnelly and Ronni Winter led offensively with two goals each.

The Pirates remain on the road to take on Northwestern-St. Paul on Saturday at noon.
