SEWANEE, Tenn. - Sewanee outscored Southwestern 10-2 in the first half to hand the Pirates a 15-9 road loss Friday night.
Sewanee jumped out to a three goal lead and never let SU within striking distance, closing the half on a 7-1 run to take a commanding 10-2 lead at the break.
Southwestern closed the game strong but were in too much of a hole to come out of.
Hayley Donnelly led with three goals while Kaitlyn Campbell added two.
Southwestern drops to 4-6 on the year and return to action on Sunday, facing Brimingham-Southern in a neutral site contest in Sewanee.
