Davis nets game-winner against Peidmont

GEORGETOWN, Texas - Piedmont stormed back to tie the game from five down midway through the second half, but Southwestern's Kate Davis had the answer with two goals in the final minute and a half to give SU the 10-8 win. 

The Pirates had a 3-2 led at halftime after a tight first half dominated by the defenses. It took over 16 minutes before the stalemate was broke by Piedmont. 

The Lions struck first in the second half but Kaitlyn Campbell sparked a Pirate run that put SU up by five, 8-3, with 14:24 to play. 

PC went on a five goal run of their own over the next nine minutes to tie the game 8-8. Davis' free position goal with 1:27 on the clock gave SU the advantage and sealed the win by winning the ensuing draw control and scoring again with 22 seconds left. 

Southwestern improves to 4-2 on the season and will once again play at home, this time facing Lynchburg on Monday at 6 pm.
