Pirates sink Buccaneers 17-7

GEORGETOWN, Texas – Southwestern had a massive eight goal lead at halftime and cruised to their fourth win of the season with a 17-7 win over Beloit.

After trading goals to start the game SU went on a 10-1 run through the first half to lead big at the break. Beloit pressed back and came within seven, 12-5, with 25:35 remaining.

Southwestern remained calm and pushed back with five straight goals to close out the contest.

Ronnie Winter led with four goals and one assist while Hayley Donnelly and Kaitlyn Campbell each added three. Christina Rosendahl was dominant on the draw control with seven on the night. Makaela Starks led the defense with five caused turnovers, five ground balls and even logged her first career goal.

The Pirates improve to 3-2 on the year and remain at home to face Piedmont on Friday at 6 pm.
