First half catapults Pirates to win

Southwestern women's lacrosse snagged an 11-8 win over Hood College in Maryland on Sunday. 

Kate Davis opened the scoring one minute into the game with a free position goal and Kaitlyn Campbell made it a two goal lead just two minutes in. The Pirates never lost the lead as they took a 7-4 advantage into the break. 

After an equal second half where both teams scored four goals, the Pirates took an 11-8 win. 

Southwestern outshot Hood 26-20 and was led by Davis and Ragland who scored three goals each. The Pirates also won the ground ball battle 23-17 led by Jordan Little and Allison Cook with four a piece. 

With the win Southwestern improves to 7-6 on the year while Hood falls to 2-8. The Pirates remain on the road to close the season in Oregon against Colorado College on Friday and Pacific on Sunday.
