Southwestern women’s lacrosse fall to Bruins

George Fox picked up where they left off and handed Southwestern a 12-2 loss on Friday night.

GFU scored off the opening draw control and never looked back, posting four straight goals before Kaitlyn Campbell put one home with five minutes to play in the half. SU went into the break trailing 5-1.

George Fox employed a much more possession oriented game and were very picky in their shot selections, making the Pirates' defense work. GFU posted five goals to open the second half to lead 10-1 with 21 minutes to play in the game.

Courtney Ragland scored to cut the Bruins' streak, but George Fox scored two straight to close the game for the 12-2 final.

Southwestern trailed 26-14 in shots and 48-28 in ground balls in the loss. SU falls to 2-3 on the year while George Fox improves to 2-0.

The Pirates remain at home to face King's College on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
