Mills named assistant coach for women’s lacrosse

Marissa Mills will be helping to lead the Southwestern women's lacrosse team this spring as the assistant coach. She has extensive lacrosse experience, serving most recently as a coach for the Long Island Elite Lacrosse Club in Islip, NY. 

Mills played at Adelphi University on the women's lacrosse team for four years, winning three NCAA Division II National Championships (2009, 2010 and 2011). She was team captain her senior season and was an NCAA Division II First Team All-American selection.

In four seasons, Mills played in 76 games, scoring 161 goals for a 2.118 goals per game average. She also posted 45 career assists with 117 ground balls, 98 draw controls and 32 caused turnovers. 

Mills graduated from Adelphi in 2012 as a communications major with a concentration in journalism and a minor in sports management. She now resides in Killeen, Texas.
