GRAND LAKE, Colo. – The Southwestern University women's lacrosse team was honored Monday being named a 2014 Academic Honor Squad by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association.

The Pirates maintained a team GPA of 3.0 or higher to earn the Academic Squad honor. The IWLCA recognized 125 NCAA III schools for the 2014 season.

Southwestern finished its first season of intercollegiate competition going 7-9 in their inaugural campaign. The Pirates won their of their first four games to open the season including a season opening, 18-3, win against Hendrix and closed the season on a high note winning three of their final four.
