Women's Lacrosse closes inaugural season with big win

TACOMA, Wash. - Southwestern dominated the first half to win their final game of the season 17-4 over Loras.

Natalie Rivera's free position shot goal five minutes into the game sparked a 13-1 first half run as the Pirates destroyed Loras in the first half.

Two more goals to open the second gave SU a 15-1 lead and Loras just had too much ground to make up, scoring three goals in the final 12 minutes.

The Pirates led in every category, 29-8 in shots, 14-9 in draw controls, 21-14 in turnovers and 20-7 in ground balls.

Christina Rosendahl and Kaitlyn Campbell led offensively with three goals a piece while Paige Summers posted a game high two assists to go with the two goals she scored. Campbell ends the regular season ranked in the top 50 in the nation in goals with 51 on the season.

Defensively, Catie Willis and Rivera had four ground balls each to lead Southwestern while Rivera posted an impressive team high four caused turnovers.

Southwestern ends their inaugural season with a 7-9 overall record.
