Women’s lacrosse falls to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps

CLAREMONT, Calif. – Southwestern didn't score in the final 36 minutes of the game, falling 23-3 to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Saturday.

The Pirates were in the game early as Kaitlyn Campbell and Allison Schmitt did what they do best, scoring two goals to pull SU within one, 3-2, ten minutes into the game.

CMS absolutely unloaded from that point on, however, as they scored 13 goals in the first half and allowed just one to Emma Albin on a free position shot, to send SU into the locker room down 16 -3.

It was all Claremont as Southwestern couldn't find the back of the net in the second half as the Stags scored seven second half goals with a running clock.

The Pirates trailed in every category, 22-16 in ground balls, 26-16 in turnovers, 20-7 in draw controls and 40-9 in shots.

The loss drops SU to 4-8 on the year. They head to Ohio to face Olivet on April 4th for their next game.
