Olivieri Wins Individuals in West Region Invitational
GEORGETOWN, Texas – Southwestern's Valentina Olivieri won individual medalist honors with a total score of 156 this Tuesday afternoon in the West Region Invitational at Berry Creek Golf Course. 
 
The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (315-328) and UT-Tyler (319-324) women's golf teams tied for first place, taking the West Region Invitational title. Southwestern took runner up in the tournament with a par of 325-333. However, in individuals, the Pirates were able to win big as Olivieri finished first in the tournament with a 78-78 and Leilani McDaniel tied for second place in individuals with score 77-83 par. 
 
Emily Campbell carded  84-85=169, tieing for 13th place; Mikayla Miller took 27th place with an 86-90=176, and Katie Dyo tied for 28th with an 89-93=182.
 
Trinity University took fourth place at 327-353=680, Schreiner University finished fifth after posting 363-340=703 and Hardin-Simmons University rounded out the six-team field with a 356-349=705. 
 
Up next the Pirates get ready for the SCAC Championships that will take place in Blanco, Texas, at the Vaaler Creek Golf Course on April 21-23.
