GEORGETOWN, Texas -- The Southwestern Women's Golf team ended the first day at the West Region Invitational in third place at Berry Creek Country Club.
The team was led by Leilani McDaniel who posted 77 with just five over par. McDaniel placed second in the first day right behind Mary Hardin Baylor's Olivia Robinson.
The Pirates women's golf team posted a total score of 325 in the first round of play to earn them third place. Mary Hardin-Baylor would claim first with a score of 315 and UT- Tyler came in at second with a score of 319. Trinity would follow Southwestern for fourth with 327, Hardin-Simmons with 356 and Schreiner with 363.
Southwestern's Valentina Olivier tied for third with a score of 78 and up six par. Emily Campbell tied for 1 8th with a score of 84, Mikayla Miller tied for 21st scoring 86 and Katherine Dyo also tied for 27th with a score of 89.
The West Region Invitational will continue Tuesday, April 2, at 8:30 a.m.
