Women's Golf Closes with Win at West Region Invitational

GEORGETOWN - The Southwestern University women's golf team closed their regular season with a win at the D3 West Region Invitational, shooting a 345 in round two for a two-round score of 670 (+94) on Tuesday afternoon at the Berry Creek Country Club.

Schreiner placed second with a two-round score of 678 (+102) while Hardin-Simmons placed third with a 682 (+106). Mary Hardin-Baylor and Texas-Tyler closed out the top five with a pair of 683s (+107) to tie for fourth.

Junior Valentina Olivieri-Puentes earned a second place finish after shooting an 82 (+10) on Tuesday for a two-round score of 162 (+18). Sophomore Emily Campbell placed 10th with a two-round score of 168 (+24) while sophomore Leilani McDaniel was 13th with a two-round score of 169 (+25).

Junior Mikayla Miller and senior Paige Greenan closed out the scoring as they each shot a 176 (+32). Junior Katie Dyo placed 10th as an individual at 168 (+24) while freshman Julia Wofford shot a 178 (+34) in the two-round event.

The Pirates return to action on April 23rd at the SCAC Championships on the Panther Trail Golf Course.
