Pirates Finish 10th at Jekyll Island Collegiate

JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. - The Southwestern University women's golf team shot a 322 (+34) on Sunday morning for a three round score of 956 (+92) to place 10th at the Jekyll Island Collegiate at the Jekyll Island Golf Club - Indian Mound.

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps won the event with a score of 913 (+49) while NYU placed second at 918 (+54) followed by Methodist at 922 (+58). Whitman took home fourth place with a score of 924 (+60) while Centre rounded out the top five with a score of 939 (+75).

Sophomores Emily Campbell and Leilani McDaniel led the Pirates with a 22nd place finish after finishing with a score of 234 (+18). Campbell led the Pirates on Sunday with a score of 77 (+5). Junior Mikayla Miller finished with a total score of 248 (+32) for the Pirates including a 79 (+7) on Sunday.

Junior Valentina Olivieri-Puentes and senior Paige Greenan rounded out the team scores for Southwestern as they each shot a 250 (+34).

The Pirates will take some time off before returning to action on April 9th as they will host the West Region Invitational at Berry Creek Country Club.
