Pirates Finish Second at Schreiner Shootout

KERRVILLE, Texas - The Southwestern University women's golf team shot a 323 (+35) in the second round of the Schreiner Spring Shootout for a two-round score of 644 (+68) to place second at the event on Tuesday morning. 

Trinity won the event with a two-round score of 637 (+61) while Hardin-Simmons was third at 653 (+77). Mary Hardin-Baylor was fourth at 659 (+83) while Schreiner finished fifth with a total score of 661 (+85).

Sophomore Emily Campbell shot an 80 (+8) for a two-round score of 155 (+11) and a third place finish while sophomore Leilani McDaniel also shot an 80 (+8) for a two-round score of 157 (+13) and a fourth place finish.

Junior Valentina Olivieri-Puentes had the low score of the day at 79 (+7) as she finished with a two-round score of 163 (+19) and a 10th place finish. Junior Mikayla Miller finished with a two-round score of 173 (+29) while junior Katie Dyo finished with a 177 (+33).

Southwestern will take the weekend off and return to action on March 17th as they head to the Georgia Coast for the Jekyll Island Collegiate.
