Pirates Close Fall Season with Win; Campbell Wins Individual Title

ABILENE, Texas - The Southwestern University women's golf team closed the fall season with a win at the Abilene Intercollegiate, shooting a 306 (+22) in the second round for a two round score of 613 (+45), pulling away for the 16-stroke victory at Diamondhead Golf Course.

Mary Hardin-Baylor placed secondw ith a two round score of 629 (+61) while Texas-Dallas was third at 633 (+65). Concordia (TX) was fourth with a two round score of 645 (+77) while Hardin-Simmons was fifth at 652 (+84).

Sophomore Emily Campbell won the event, shooting a 73 (+2) for the second straight day for a two round score of 146 (+4) to win the event by one stroke. Campbell had three birdies on 15, 17, and 18. Junior Katie Dyo was fifth after shooting a 75 (+4) for a two round score of 155 (+13) while junior Valentina Olivieri-Puentes shot an 81 (+10) for a two round score of 158 (+16) and a seventh place finish.

Rounding out the scoring for the Pirates was freshman Julia Wofford, whose 77 (+6) was good for a two round score of 160 (+18) while sophomore Paige Greenan shot an 84 (+13) for a two round score of 161 (+19). 

Southwestern concludes its fall season with two team victories and two second place finishes. They will take some time off in the next few months before returning on March 5th as they travel to Kerrville for the Schreiner Spring Shootout.
