Pirates Finish Second at Alamo City Classic

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Southwestern University women's golf team placed second after shooting a second round score of 317 for a two-round total of 654 (+86) at the Alamo City Classic at The Quarry Golf Club in San Antonio.

Trinity University won the event with a two round score of 635 (+67) while Hardin-Simmons finished third at 673 (+105). Schreiner placed fourth with a 675 (+107) while Texas Lutheran rounded out the top five with a score of 687 (+119).

Sophomore Leilani McDaniel finished second in the event, just two strokes from the leader, as she shot a 74 (+2) on Tuesday for a two round score of 157 (+15). Junior Valentina Olivieri-Puentes finished fifth in the event, also shooting a 74 (+2) for a two round score of 161 (+19).

Sophomore Emily Campbell shot an 86 (+14) for a two round score of 168 (+26) while sophomore Paige Greenan shot an 83 (+11) to also shoot a two round score of 168 (+26).

Round out the scoring was freshman Julia Wofford, finishing with a two round score of 179 (+37).

The Pirates will conclude their fall season next week as they head to Abilene, Texas for the two-round Abilene Intercollegiate beginning on Monday.
