Southwestern snags second at Abilene Intercollegiate

ABILENE, Texas – The Pirates took off eight strokes on day two and jumped one spot to finish in second place at the Abilene Intercollegiate to close the fall season.

Leilani McDaniel had a huge comeback, shaving seven strokes off her opening round to come in tied for second place with 153 strokes (80-73). Her 73 in the second round tied for the second lowest round of the tournament.

Valentina Olivieri and Paige Greenan also posted top ten finishes. Olivieri came in tied for seventh with 158 strokes (77-81) while Greenan's 162 (80-82) gave her a tie for tenth.

Katherine Dyo was just one stroke out of tenth with a 163 (85-78) and Mikayla Miller posted a 165 (84-81).

Southwestern returns to play on March 6th as they compete at the Schreiner Shootout at Comanche Trace Golf Club in Kerrville.
