Women's Golf in ninth after first round

SANDESTIN, Fla. – Against the top teams in the nation the Southwestern women's golf team posted a 333 to finish in ninth after one round of play.

Keeley Coburn and Valentina Olivieri led the way for the Pirates with a nine-over-par 81 to finish tied for 22nd. Bernice Leonard shot an 84 ending tied for 42nd, Katherine Dyo posted an 87 and Mikayla Miller a 92.

Sewanee leads in the team standings with a 309 and Emily Javadi leads individually with a three under par 69.

Southwestern continues play on Monday at the Baytowne Golf Club.
