Leonard takes third at Lady Bulldog Invitational

SEGUIN, Texas - It was a strong start to her senior campaign as Bernice Leonard finished tied for third with a 155 at the Lady Bulldog Invitational. 

Southwestern placed fifth overall in the team standings with a combined score of 647 after shaving 21 strokes off their day one effort (334-313). Western Texas Community College won the event with a 631. 

First-year Mikayla Miller took the second spot for Southwestern, finishing with a 162 (85-77) and tied for 18th. Keeley Coburn posted a 163 (86-77) to end tied for 20th while Katherine Dyo had an 87 on day two to end with 171 strokes and tied for 27th. Valentia Oliveieri rounded out Southwestern's team with a 172 (89-83). 

WTCC's Emily Coleman won the event with a combined score of 146 (75-71). 

Southwestern next heads to Killeen, Texas to compete in the Lady Cru Fall Invitational beginning on September 28th.
