#2: Boone climbs the leaderboard from the clubhouse to win the SCAC women's golf title

When senior Lauren Boone sank her final putt she knew she had posted a round she was proud to end her career on, little did she know it would be the round of a champion.

Sitting in the clubhouse Boone watched her name climb the leaderboard until reaching the summit to win the 2015 SCAC Championship at Vaaler Creek Golf Club in Boerne, Texas, on April 21.

Boone entered the day tied for ninth with an 87 on day one and could not miss on day two, shooting a two-over-par 74, the lowest round of the tournament of any women's player. She recorded ten pars and three birdies in the round with a final score of 161.

As a team, the Pirates jumped one spot after shaving 33 strokes off their day one total to finish with a 713 team score and in third place. Schreiner University won the team championship with a combined score of 667.

Boone was named the SCAC Female Golfer of the Year after her performance, the seventh time and fourth Pirate to earn the honor.
