Southwestern junior Bernice Leonard closed the tournament on a high note with a final round 76 to end in second place overall at the West Region Invitational.

Leonard closed the tournament with 156 strokes, trailing WRI Champion Jordan Sloane of UT Tyler by just one stroke. 

As a team, the Pirates ended seventh overall. Lauren Boone finished tied for 12th with a 164 (83-81) and Keeley Coburn tied for 27th with 172 strokes (85-87). Jenny Smith rounded out Southwestern with a 42nd place finish with 200 strokes (101-99). 

UT Tyler won the event with a team score of 635. 

SU next competes at the SCAC Championships beginning on April 20th at Vaalar Creek Country Club in Blanco, Texas.
