Leonard earns third SCAC Golfer of the Week honor

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - For the third time this fall, Southwestern junior Bernice Leonard was selected as the SCAC Women's Golfer of the Week. 

Leonard led the Southwestern women's golf team to a third-place finish of 10 teams competing at the Alamo City Classic, contested Oct. 20-21 at The Quarry Golf Club in San Antonio.

Leonard fired rounds of 75 and 76 for a two-day total of 151 (+9), placing her second among the 47 competitors and tops of Division III golfers. 

Southwestern completed the tournament with a 641 total at the par-71 course to finish in a tie for third. Among fellow SCAC competitors, the Pirates were two shots behind Schreiner University (639) and eight shots ahead of host Trinity University (649). Texas Lutheran finished ninth at 752.
