Speck Named WGCA All-American Scholar

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. – The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars for Division I, II & III were announced today with a total of 644 women's collegiate golfers recognized with this prestigious honor including Southwestern University senior Karissa Speck.

This is the second year Speck has earned the honor, she was also selected in 2011. 

The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.

Speck is majoring in accounting at Southwestern. She tied for 15th place overall at the 2013 NCAA National Championships where the SU women came in seventh in the nation. It was the seventh trip to the National Championships for the Pirate women. They posted their highest finish in 2008, bringing home third place honors.
