Georgina German joined the Southwestern women’s basketball coaching staff as a volunteer assistant for the 2015-2016 season and was promoted to the full-time assistant coach on Aug. 1, 2016. 

At Southwestern, German has worked with the Pirates’ post players, developing multiple-time all-conference selections Tori Carraway and Cecily Woolfolk, who have three First Team All-SCAC selections between them. In addition to her duties as assistant women’s basketball coach, German manages all gameday events at Southwestern. 

German brings a wealth of experience across multiple sports. She previously served as an assistant throws coach for Southwestern from 2015-2017, and for Illinois College in 2015. 

She served as Director of Athletic Development at The HIT Center of Jacksonville, where she directed and assisted in designing the NFL Combine training programs. German has coached and trained NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA athletes in multiple sports, and over 50 athletes from the NFL, NBA, MLB, Women’s Tennis Association, Moto Cross, and MMA. She also designed and implemented training protocols for the City of Jacksonville police and fire departments. 

German competed professionally for the Jacksonville Dixie Blues women’s professional tackle football team from 2004-2010, winning the Women’s Football Alliance Superior Bowl in 2006. 

German received her Bachelor of Arts in Adult Fitness from Marshall University, where she was a member of the women’s basketball team from 1998-2000. She received her Associate of Arts degree from Central Arizona College where she competed in basketball,  track and field from 1996-1998 and was an NJCAA National Basketball Champion and NJCAA National Track and Field Champion.
