Southwestern dominated the second quarter, nearly doubling the Bulldogs' effort to lead by seven, 35-28 at halftime. Cecily Woolfolk paced the Pirates with 15 first half points.

The Pirates led almost the entirety of the third quarter, but TLU held close and trailed by just two heading into the fourth, 54-52.

Cami Davis' three with 5:44 to play tied the game for the 12th time. The Bulldogs briefly led until Naomi Brown's jumper gave Southwestern the lead with 1:49 to play. Presley Stephens made one of two free throws  to tie the game again with 44 seconds remaining.

The Pirates drew up the perfect play on the sideline, giving the ball to Madison Edwards at the top of the key. Edwards dribbled down the clock, drove off the left elbow and nailed a 12-foot jumper with 11 seconds left. SU's defense did the rest as TLU could not get an open look at the hoop in their final possession.

Southwestern improves to 12-13 on the year and 8-6 in the SCAC, securing the #3 seed in the SCAC Championship next weekend in Colorado Springs, Colo.
